    Honours students in creative fields who enrich their communities through creativity and cultural expression. Geared toward individuals whose work highlights Filipino culture or heritage and contributes to community belonging.

    Celebrates Filipino Canadian artists and cultural contributors who use their talents to strengthen cultural identity, foster belonging, and enhance the visibility of Filipino culture in Canada.

    • Students entering their first year of Canadian post-secondary study who are the first in their immediate family to attend post-secondary education in Canada. In this context, first generation means neither parent has attended college or university in Canada.

    Additional requirements

    • Signed declaration confirming that neither parent or guardian has completed post secondary education in Canada. If under 18, a co-signature from a parent or guardian is recommended.

    • Optional supporting documents such as copies of parents or guardians highest education certificates or transcripts, if available.

      • “What challenges and motivations come with being the first in your family to study in Canada?”

      • “How has your family’s background shaped your goals?”

    Promotes inclusion, representation, and excellence across disciplines by supporting Filipino-Canadian students at different stages and in diverse fields. Reinforces that every student ambition is valued, whether traditional or unique.

  • David Janz Scholarship Fund

    The exclusive sponsorship is to honour Macky Bordeos' mentor, David Janz. This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a nursing program. The chosen student will receive a scholarship of $2,000 per year, provided they maintain a minimum average of B+ and remain enrolled for the next four years. Thus, they will receive a total of $8,000 in scholarship funds.
